Months after his split from Lopez, a new report claims the divorce did not just sting — it left him struggling to fully move on, even as both stars keep things cordial in public. Simply put, a source claims Affleck struggles to “move on” emotionally.
A source close to Ben Affleck told The Sun that the end of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez hit him hard and “He’s been heartbroken for a long time, especially since the end of his relationship with J Lo.” Lopez filed for divorce on August 20 last year, and the official separation date listed was April 26.
While reports have described the breakup as amicable, the source claimed that some of Lopez’s public comments have touched on lingering hurt.
During her Las Vegas residency at the end of December, Lopez joked to the crowd: “Since I was last here, I have only been married twice. That’s not true — it was only once. It felt like twice.
The source claimed, “Those jabs in public really hurt him.” Besides, “The end of that marriage was incredibly tough to take,” per the source, who claimed that Affleck struggles when he runs into either of his exes, but especially Lopez. The source explained,
“When he’s around J.Lo especially, his body language gives everything away. The way he looks at her, the gentle gestures, leaning in close — that’s deep love. But he also knows it’s impossible now, which makes it heartbreaking.”
Additionally, the report claimed that Affleck has gone on a few casual dates since his divorce from Lopez, but nothing has turned serious. The source added, “He still misses her and feels a strong attraction, despite everything.”
While Affleck appears to keep busy with his day-to-day life and work, Lopez stays busy with her performances. But if the people around him are right, the hardest part for Affleck is the emotional turmoil of how this chapter with Lopez ended.
