The smear campaigns aimed at damaging the image of young Barca star Lamine Yamal continue relentlessly in several Madrid-based newspapers considered pro-Real. They criticize everything from Yamal’s appearance at a press conference wearing a hat pulled low over his head to his birthday party being held with hired dwarfs. Everything Lamine does is judged harshly, even exaggerated.

And the smear campaign against Yamal reached its blatant peak when ABC and OK Diario newspapers competed to publish an article alleging sexual assault against a Dutch tourist in Barcelona. The suspect was the brother of Ansu Fati, currently playing for Monaco on loan from Barca. But ABC, the first newspaper to report this, headlined the article with a claim that the assault occurred at Lamine Yamal’s home. To clarify, Yamal bought a villa in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona, ​​worth approximately 12.7 million euros. This was previously the villa of Pique and Shakira.

Located in the Ciudad Diagonal of Esplugues de Llobregat, the villa was built in 2012 by architect Mireia Admetller, with grounds spanning nearly 4,000 square meters. The villa itself occupies approximately 700 square meters. The villa stands out with its modern and minimalist architecture, characterized by open spaces and large windows, along with a light color palette.

In fact, the ABC’s exclusive report is false. Local police have denied that the incident occurred at the villa that Lamine Yamal bought from Pique in Esplugues. Furthermore, police have stated that the attack took place at a different house. Not only is the headline inaccurate, but ABC also misrepresents the story by using an image that is not of the Shoko nightclub in the Olympic Village, where the victim and suspect met before the incident. The ABC newspaper also did not publish a photo of Fatinho, Ansu Fati’s brother, but instead used a photo of Ansu Fati and Lamine Yamal in Barcelona jerseys. Neither of these players was involved in the incident.

Even after correcting the record and admitting that the incident did not occur at Lamine’s home, OK Diario continued to use a photo of Lamine Yamal. This not only causes misunderstanding but could also constitute defamation. Even more shocking, the Telecinco program “En boca de todos” illustrated the sexual assault with an image of… Lamine Yamal at a party.

“This is truly disgusting. Their (referring to some newspapers in Madrid) purpose is nothing more than to smear Yamal, by misleading readers into believing that Yamal is somehow involved in this egregious affair,” Yamal’s private lawyer stated. “We do not rule out the possibility of taking legal action against those who published this fabricated and unfounded information.”
