Musical or Comedy while presenting onstage at Los Angeles’ The Beverly Hilton

Jennifer Lopez couldn’t wait to find out who won at the Golden Globes 2026.

That’s why the “Waiting for Tonight” singer nearly prematurely revealed the winner for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy while presenting onstage at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles Jan. 11.

“So, let’s see who was the funniest or the most musical,” she told the crowd at the Nikki Glaser-hosted award show. “But honestly, these were some of the most amazing performances of the year and I don’t know how they choose one of you.”

As she started to open the envelope, she appeared to realize that she had yet to introduce the nominees in the category: Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme,

Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, George Clooney in Jay Kelly, Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, Lee Byung-Hun in No Other Choice and Jesse Plemons in Bugonia.

“Good luck to all of you,” J.Lo added, before segueing into the nominations reel, “and the nominees are…”

Ultimately, it was Timothée who took home the prize for his portaryal of the titular table tennis player Marty Mauser.

Taking the stage, the 30-year-old shouted out his costars Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Tyler, The Creator, Fran Drescher and Kevin O’Leary, who made his acting debut in the sports dramedy.

“If you would have told me when I was 19 years old I’d be thanking Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank,” he quipped, referring to Kevin by his nickname, “I would have been stunned.”

Timothée also sent some love to his girlfriend of three years Kylie Jenner, who mouthed from the audience, “I’m so happy.”

“For my parents, for my partner, I love you,” he added. “Thank you so much.”

And there were no hard feelings from his fellow nominee Leo. After all, the Titanic alum was spotted congratulating Timothée as he returned to his seat following the victory.

“Dude, I’m studying,” Timothée told the three-time Golden Globes winner. “I’m studying you, man.”
