The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best teams in modern history. They have the best roster in baseball, which has helped them win back-to-back World Series titles. But it doesn’t seem like they’re content there.

The Dodgers will likely hit the trade block and free agency hard in order to bolster their roster. They could use an additional infielder and outfielder while looking to improve the bullpen, too.

Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter recently put together a mock trade that would send St. Louis Cardinals star Brendan Donovan to the Dodgers in exchange for shortstop Emil Morales, pitcher River Ryan, and outfielder Kendall George.

“For years, Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernández were invaluable pieces on the Los Angeles Dodgers roster thanks to their combination of offensive production and defensive versatility,” Reuter wrote. “Brendan Donovan could fill a similar role. The 2025 All-Star played primarily second base in 2025, but he has logged at least 100 career innings at all four infield spots and both outfield corners, and he is a career .282/.361/.411 hitter over four seasons.”

Donovan would be a huge addition for the Dodgers.

He would be able to fill a utility role, which would take a lot of stress off the shoulders of the other players on the roster. Donovan could play the corner outfield spots, first base, second base, or third base.

The Dodgers are expected to be aggressive enough to go after Kyle Tucker. This aggression could lead to a huge trade for Donovan in the coming weeks.
