Real Betis host Barcelona today, but not at their traditional home.

With Benito Villamarin undergoing a major renovation – including the demolition and rebuilding of the Preferencia stand – Betis have temporarily moved their home matches to Estadio de La Cartuja, the newly upgraded 70,000-seat venue in Seville.

La Cartuja has become Betis’ base during the reconstruction period, offering a modernised layout and expanded capacity, but it still isn’t home in the emotional sense.

For Barca, though, the stadium carries a very different feeling – one filled with fresh, positive memories.

Just months ago, Barcelona won the 2025 Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja, beating Real Madrid 3-2 after extra time in a dramatic clasico showdown.

Pedri opened the scoring, Ferran Torres forced extra time, and Jules Kounde struck the decisive goal deep into the 116th minute.

Under the lights in Seville, Barca lifted their 32nd Copa del Rey title, turning La Cartuja into the scene of one of their standout nights of the season.
