The relationship between David and Victoria Beckham and their eldest son, Brooklyn, has grown increasingly tense, with the couple reportedly blocked by their beloved son for an unbelievable reason.

David and Victoria Beckham are among the most famous couples in the global entertainment and sports worlds. After tying the knot in 1999, the pair welcomed four children: Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven. In late April 2022, the Beckhams’ eldest son, Brooklyn, married actress Nicola Peltz in a lavish wedding reportedly costing more than $3 million.

Nicola Peltz was born in 1995 in New York, USA, and is the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz. She began her acting career with a role in Deck the Halls before going on to receive numerous film offers. However, since the arrival of their daughter-in-law, the inner workings of the former Manchester United star’s family have reportedly become increasingly turbulent.

Things took a turn for the worse after Brooklyn distanced himself from his parents following his wedding to Nicola Peltz—a relationship he frequently flaunts on social media. Adding to the strain, Brooklyn reportedly held a lavish vow renewal ceremony this year without inviting any family members, including his parents or siblings. Rather than attempting to resolve the conflict, Brooklyn is said to have poured fuel on the fire by blocking communication with his parents as well as his three siblings—Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—across all social media platforms. Even more shocking, this latest rift is said to have stemmed from an almost unbelievable reason.

Everything began when Brooklyn posted an Instagram video sharing a roast chicken recipe. In the clip, he mentioned marinating the chicken in beer to enhance the flavor. Victoria Beckham liked the video, and soon afterward, thousands of followers flooded the comments section, pressuring Brooklyn to end the tension with his family and reconcile with his parents.

This reportedly infuriated Brooklyn, prompting him to immediately block his mother. Shortly after, he went on to block communication with his famous father, David Beckham, as well as his siblings.

According to sources close to the Beckham couple, they are truly heartbroken by Brooklyn’s behavior, especially at a time when the family should be coming together to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. News of the rift spread rapidly across social media, prompting Cruz Beckham to speak out in defense of his parents.

Cruz dismissed claims that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn on social media as completely false. “That is not true. My parents would never unfollow their own son. Get the facts straight. They woke up and realized they had been blocked—just like I was,” Cruz wrote on social media.

According to Heat magazine in the U.S., Brooklyn and his wife Nicola are even considering dropping the Beckham surname. “It’s been almost a year since Brooklyn last spoke to his parents, and he has no intention of seeing them unless the Beckhams publicly apologize to Nicola. Brooklyn wants to make a fresh start in 2026, including changing his personal details. He and Nicola have talked about dropping the Beckham name and using only the Peltz surname,” a source close to Brooklyn told Heat.

“Brooklyn and Nicola no longer feel they need the Beckham name and want their children to carry the Peltz surname. Clearly, that would be the ultimate insult to David and Victoria.”
