Reportedly, the couple felt that this was the right time and might get married this summer. As per Jornal da Madeira, they could get married after the World Cup, which is also speculated to be the footballer’s last major international event, though he has not yet commented on the same. The publication recently confirmed that their wedding will take place in the Funchal Cathedral, known as Se Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Assuncao.
And it is also being reported that the Funchal Cathedral was established in 1514, making it the oldest religious building on Madeira. The cathedral contains Gothic characteristics, and its ceiling is one of its highlights. To mention, if Ronaldo marries at this ancient location, it will have another significance, since rumours say the cathedral is only 2 miles from the hospital where he was born, as well as not far from the Nacional da Madeira field, where he began his football career.
