Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Reunite at L.A. Mall with His Son Sam to Shop for Holiday Gifts for His Kids

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited for some holiday shopping

On Sunday, Dec. 21, the exes reunited alongside the Air star’s son Samuel, 13, for some shopping and lunch at Brentwood

Country Mart in Los Angeles before the upcoming winter holiday. A source tells PEOPLE that the former couple “seemed fine” and were mainly focused on showing up for the teen.

“They met up and went shopping together. Jen and Ben seemed fine,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “The focus was mostly on Sam.”

“He was excited and chatty. They shopped for gifts in several high-end stores,” the source continues. “Jen asked a lot of questions and picked up gifts for Ben’s kids. They arrived and left separately.”

The former couple was photographed arriving at the Farmshop for lunch, with Lopez, 56, arriving separately from the father-son pair. The Hustlers actress wore a brown and white polka-dotted dress with a cream sweater and brown boots

Affleck, 53, went for a casual look, wearing khakis, a cream button-up and a matching blazer. He paired his look with brown boots. The Hypnotic star’s son wore cream-colored sweatpants and white sneakers

In August 2024, the “Get on the Floor” singer filed for divorce from The Accountant 2 star, more than two years after the couple married in July 2022, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

Affleck and Lopez maintain a good relationship, despite their split. Their blended family still has a tight-knit relationship. Affleck is dad to Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 53, while Lopez and ex Marc Anthony, 56, share 17-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Years after calling off their first engagement, Affleck and Lopez reconnected then married in 2022. They split in 2024 and finalized their divorce this past January, but have kept things positive for the sake of their children.

“She’s a great mom and always gave Ben’s kids the same love,” a Lopez source told PEOPLE. “Even though her contact with Ben is now more sporadic, they make sure the kids can spend time together whenever they want.”
