If you thought Netflix was done with rom-coms, Jennifer Lopez is here to risk it all and prove you wrong with Office Romance in 2026.
According to Netflix, Office Romance recently started production and is due for release sometime this year. In the upcoming film, directed by Ol Parker, Lopez leads the cast alongside Brett Goldstein.
“Every day I come to work to do a rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and this incredible cast, and I expect people to jump out and tell me I’m being pranked. Hasn’t happened yet, so maybe this is real?” Goldsten told Tudum.
Goldstein has penned Office Romance in addition to starring alongside Joe Kelly. Additionally, the rom-com reunites Lopez with Edward James Olmos, who originally portrayed her father in the 1997 movie Selena, and is now set to play her father once again on screen.
Lopez, Goldstein, and Kelly also serve as producers, besides Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina. Pamela Thur and Courtney Baxter serve as executive producers.
Jennifer Lopez portrays Jackie Cruz, Brett Goldstein plays Daniel Blanchflower, Betty Gilpin portrays Sydney, and Edward James Olmos plays Captain Jack Cruz in Office Romance. Tony Hale is set to appear as George Zein, Bradley Whitford as Peter Vance, Amy Sedaris as Julie Schatz, Tony Plana as Francisco Alberto, Roger Bart as William Butten, Jackie Sandler as Caroline, Donald Elise Watkins as Henry, Jodie Whittaker as Lizzy, and Natalie Ortega as Heather.
Mary Wiseman as Clair, Brian Gallivan as Frederick, Ali Stroker as Maggie, Michelle Hurd as Rachel Goldberg, Scott Seiss as Dave, Lisa Gilroy as Tanya, Rick Hoffman as Carl Gunderson, Will Sasso as Larry and Mo Welch as Debbie round out the cast.
Lopez shared new pictures from the set, which you can check below. However, Netflix has chosen to remain strictly tight-lipped about the plot. While Netflix already brought several rom-coms from November through December to light up the holiday season, Office Romance promises to keep the craze alive in the days to come.
Although the whereabouts of the trailer and the release date remain shrouded in mystery, now that Netflix has broken the ice, it won’t be long before more updates come our way. So, check back later for more.
