Jennifer Lopez is enjoying some quality bonding time with her child, Emme, this holiday season. The multi-hyphenate, 56, took to social media on Friday, November 28, to share photos of herself cooking a lavish Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen alongside Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony; Emme’s twin is Maximilian “Max.”

The photo series began with a snap of Lopez, wearing a lace-trimmed apron, proudly presenting her perfectly golden turkey. The subsequent two photos captured a heartwarming moment of her and a casually dressed Emme checking on a cake they had placed in the oven. Further images showcased the impressive spread available in the Lopez household, which included multiple sweet pies, potato salad, rice dishes, and more festive fare.

In the final images from the post, Lopez had shed her apron, revealing the elegant off-white silk shift dress she wore for the celebration, paired with towering, strappy pumps. It has been a busy period for the family recently. Back in August, Lopez shared an emotional moment on her Instagram Stories when she dropped Emme off for their first day of senior year. “I just dropped off this little coconut to their first day of senior year. Looking back at this photo from a few years ago, it just reminds me that they’ll always be my beautiful baby!” wrote Lopez over one of the throwback photos.

In a February 2022 PEOPLE cover story, Lopez discussed her parenting philosophy, highlighting that one of her main priorities is ensuring her children feel immensely loved. “Everybody is growing up, they’re not babies anymore, so you can’t just take them on your lap and tell them it’s going to be okay,” said the Kiss of the Spider Woman star. “They’re venturing out, they’re being their own people and it’s us just trying to keep up.” She continued, calling the process “the journey of it [and] another path you have to go own,” adding, “It’s a joy for me.” Lopez also explained during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, October 15, that she made changes to her parenting approach following a candid conversation with her kids during the COVID-19 pandemic.
