Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto recently introduced his dog Carlos on Instagram. Carlos is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. His imposing appearance might lead one to mistake him for a Pit Bull, but he is actually extremely gentle, lively, and affectionate. He is not aggressive by nature and is an ideal family companion dog.

According to Japanese media reports, Yamamoto wrote in her post, “I met him at a dog shelter last August, and the video was the first time I saw him. He is very gentle and enjoys a slow pace of life, naps, walks, and good food. I am really happy to have Carlos with me.”

Yamamoto revealed that he developed a special affection for animals because his mother worked at an animal hospital when he was young. Last summer, when his mother visited Los Angeles, they went to a shelter that housed dogs awaiting euthanasia. When he saw this abandoned puppy, he “saw it at first sight” and immediately decided to adopt it and take it home.
