Taina Castro, the wife of Real Madrid star Éder Militão, is embroiled in a legal battle with her ex-husband Leo Pereira — a current Flamengo player — over child support for their two children.

Speaking of Éder Militão, it’s impossible not to mention that the Real Madrid defender secretly married his beautiful girlfriend Taina Castro at the end of last year. Their dream wedding took place at a resort with breathtaking scenery on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, their hometown in Brazil. Before getting together with Taina Castro, Éder Militão had dated influencer Karoline Lima, and the two went public with their relationship in mid-2021.

But in 2022, Karoline unexpectedly broke up with the Real Madrid defender. Notably, the couple went their separate ways just a few days before their daughter Cecilia was born. Around the same time, Karoline also began seeing Flamengo center-back Leonardo Pereira — which caused quite a stir, as Pereira and Taina had previously been a couple. Taina ended her relationship with Pereira in July last year after a long time together, during which they had two children: Matteo, 4, and Helena, 5.

According to a recent report by O Globo, Taina Castro — now the wife of Militão — is suing her ex-husband Leo Pereira for one million reais (Brazilian currency, approximately 186,000 USD). During a hearing at the court in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Taina accused Leo of failing to pay the child support owed for their two children.

“Things aren’t as dramatic as people think. We have a good relationship, always putting the children’s best interests first. We’re here only to talk about the kids, and I have never let my children lack anything. I’m very calm about this, and the truth will always prevail,” Leo Pereira said on social media, denying that he owes child support.

Taina Castro responded to her ex-husband’s statement through her own social media account. “Out of respect for the ongoing court proceedings, I will not disclose details. However, I cannot remain silent in the face of false information intended to damage my credibility. Creating a perfect public image does not change the facts that have been proven in court. My commitment is to the truth and the well-being of my children. I trust that the court will clarify everything, with all details properly recorded in the case files,” Taina declared.

In reality, Leo Pereira and Taina Castro have been embroiled in a legal battle since July 2023. In 2024, the two sides reportedly agreed that Leo would pay 2 million reais to his ex-wife, but according to Taina’s claims, this never happened. She asserts that only half of the amount was transferred at the time. “The truth is always the truth — he cannot hide what he has done. I will do everything within my power to obtain the rightful support my children deserve,” Taina emphasized.
