Let’s start with the big metal. Aluminum is the most abundant conductive metal on Earth. It’s lightweight, inexpensive, and — unlike lithium — fully recyclable without losing performance.
The key breakthrough came when Tesla’s engineers developed a graphene-infused aluminum anode, allowing ions to move 100 times faster than in traditional lithium cells.
