Travis Kelce has cracked the code on thoughtful gifting for Taylor Swift. On the Christmas Eve episode of New Heights, the Kansas City Chiefs player revealed that one of the best presents he’s ever given Swift was a practical kitchen tool to support her passion for baking sourdough.

“I will say one of Tay’s favorite gifts that I got her was the bread slicer,” Kelce shared on the podcast, joined by his brother Jason Kelce and his sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce. “Because she’s been throwing together so much fucking sourdough.” He added, “Gosh, I got the best gut health there is. I love you, Tay.”

Jason was quick to back him up, noting that anything designed to make slicing easier is a major upgrade when it comes to homemade bread: “One of the unfortunate things with making fresh bread is trying to cut that shit. It is hard. And the slicer makes a big deal.”

Kylie chimed in with her own take, suggesting that it’s just as hard to resist a fresh loaf. “I take it upon myself to crush it as fast as possible,” she said.

Swift’s sourdough era has been well documented. When she appeared on New Heights earlier this year, the pop star enthusiastically outlined the rotation of flavors she’s been perfecting with Jason and Kylie’s daughters in mind. “There’s a blueberry lemon. There’s cinnamon swirl, cinnamon raisin, and this one I’ve been workshopping for the girls because they love everything rainbow: Funfetti sourdough,” she said, to which Jason responded, “Oh my gosh. That’s gonna blow their mind.”

Swift added, “It will because they love sprinkles. We put sprinkles in everything when we hang out.” She also admitted just how all-consuming the hobby has become. “The sourdough’s taken over my life in a huge way. I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now,” she joked.

According to Kylie, Swift’s reputation in the kitchen is well-earned. On a November episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, Kylie praised the singer’s skills without hesitation. “Taylor makes a banging sourdough loaf,” she said, adding that between Swift and other bakers in her family, Thanksgiving desserts are more than covered.

Swift’s baking talents have made the rounds among other friends as well. Over the summer, Swift gifted Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco a basket of homemade loaves for Gomez’s birthday, complete with a handwritten note that read, “It’s a loaf story”—a playful nod to her 2008 hit “Love Story.”
