May be an image of one or more people and blonde hair‘Up All Night‘ residency in Las Vegas alike, but there’s one who’s been none-too-impressed with what he’s seen of the spectacle: comedian Aries Spears

Taking to Instagram at the top of the year, the funnyman was doing anything but laughing when he posted a clip from Lopez’s residency (like the one above) to lambast the diva’s vocal performances.

To the people that get upset with the people that critique J Lo’s singing and call them haters and say her voice is beautiful,

what is wrong with you guys? Are you that delusional and sensitive what is wrong with your ears? She’s off key she’s not on pitch and she can barely hold certain notes,”

he told his 1.6 million followers on the platform at the time. “It’s not hate, it’s honesty.”

The staunch criticism quickly rubbed fans of the ‘Get Right’ singer the wrong way, earning him jeers in the comment section of the clip.

Jennifer Lopez looks good for her age, but she can’t sing worth a damn. When you [think of] Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin,

Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion, we’re talking about female vocalists who bring the thunder,” he told VLAD. “People make excuses [for J.Lo] and say, ‘she never said she was the best singer.’ Well, then don’t f-cking sing! Why do you have a residency in Vegas?”

When later quizzed by Big Boy about the negative reaction he’s gotten from commenters about his continued criticism of J.Lo, Aries stood his ground.

“The people online and in your comments will say, ‘oh, you’re a hater.’ [I’m not], I’m honest and I’m opinionated. We’re not allowed to be that any more,”

Spears said to Big Boy when asked about the backlash. “I’m just stating facts. Like in that clip I posted, it’s clear; she’s off key, off pitch, and can’t hold certain notes…”
